Hijoung Oh has extensive experience in a wide range of cross-border transactions, including share and asset purchases and joint ventures, corporate governance, competition law, and general corporate and commercial law matters with a focus on Korea and Southeast Asia. She advises companies and high net worth individuals on their cross-border investments and asset managements and has significant experience helping companies invest in the Korean market. She is fluent in the cultural nuances of conducting business in Korea and is familiar with the challenges of working with Korean companies and companies working with Korean companies. Hijoung has also represented many Korean companies in investing in developing nations and other emerging markets in the form of acquisitions, in whole or in part, of existing local enterprises, or establishment of new entities. Hijoung is particularly sought after for her abilities in structuring and negotiating complex cross border mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures.
She also has advised some of the world’s best-known companies as well as smaller business and individuals on cross-border litigation and international arbitration in a wide variety of commercial disputes.
Hijoung’s approach to successfully advising clients includes thoroughly analyzing her clients’ goals and the challenges they face. She stands by her clients and focuses on maintaining a solid relationship with them to ensure their needs are met.
Hijoung graduated from Boston College in 1997, summa cum laude, and received her J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 2003. She is admitted in the State of New York in the United States and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Singapore.
